Katy Perry's New Perfume!

Hey Girlies,

today I'm gonna review a perfume that was recently released here in the US and that I am absolutely in love with: Purr by Katy Perry.
I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of celebrity fragrances, but this one is just amazing, I had to get myself one :)
Let's start with it's creative bottle:

I have to say that Katy Perry does a very good job with all the products released under her name...Starting with her O.P.I nail polish collection, which I was already a fan of!

This fragrance is very feminine, slightly sweet, very addicting. I don't do a great job of describing fragrances, but if you have the opportunity, definetely check it out!

Konad!

Today I am going to talk about a nice little tool that became my addiction in the last few days...Konad!
Konad is a brand that sells those little stampers with image plates that make it so easy to have the most fun-tastic nails!! :P

I gave it my first try on monday and I have to confess I was pretty upset for the first hour trying. It is not a fool proof method, and you have to keep practicing until you get the hang of it, but once you do it's extremely easy (like learning to ride a bike, once you learn you never go wrong again! haha)
Let me show you guys how the stamper I bought looks like:

This is the double sided stamper (I believe konad has 2 other kinds of stampers) - you can see it comes with a little scraper too - that's what you use to scrape off the excess polish form the plate.
I have to say, I've been having so much fun with these, you can create the coolest designs on your nails!

PLEASE NOTE: I did not buy the Konad nail polishes. It took me many tries and a lot of frustration, but I found some polishes that will work good (actually many will work, the problem is that some will just be so faint you won't really see the stamping, so you have to choose more pigmented colors if you're not going to buy the Konad ones. And the goopier the better!)
Someone posted a video on youtube showing how to thicken nail polishes so they will work for stamping, which is adding Xanthan Gum until they are thick enough. It did not work for me at all, I paid 11 dollars for the xanthan gum and it did not change the consistency of my polish. Oh well...

This has been my experience with Konad so far:

the first one is a leopard print (I know I did not use the "right colors" and I know my cuticles are ginormous, but let's get past that :)

Must Have: Benefit Instant Brow Pencil

This is one of those products that I can't live without. If I was in a hurry and needed to grab just a couple of makeup items, this would DEFINETELY be one of them.
It's the Instant Brow Pencil from Benefit.

This pencil is absolutely amazing! It is made to fill up the gaps in the eyebrow, give it a fuller, more tamed look (it does not look old lady-ish, like your brow was designed with it! haha) 

The pencil has a waxy consistency, which is made to keep the hairs of your eyebrows in place once you use it and brush it with the little brush on the opposite side of the pencil. You will not believe the difference this makes until you actually try it (if your brows have little gaps or is too light in certain areas - my case)

It is very pricey for a pencil, though. It costs $20, I have to agree it is a rip off (like every other benefit product), but this one to me is worth it. I've had mine for almost 6 months and I use it everyday, so in the long run it's not that big of an investment.
It comes in 3 shades: light (for blondes and people with very light colored eyebrows), medium (just the regular light-brown) and deep (a darker brown).
Benefit has a "brow bar" at Ulta, where you can try their products out and see which ones you like the most (I love many of their products, too bad they are so overpriced).

Review: Studio Moisture Tint SPF 15 by MAC

This was my very first foundation from MAC, if you can call this a foundation.
This is the color "Light", which I believe is the lighest color available for this product.
The price is around 30 dollars. (29 and some change)


The Studio Moisture Tint is a tinted moisturizer with very light coverage. When I say very light, I mean it. It's meant more for tone correction than actual coverage. It's not very buildable, so you might want to consider something else if you need heavier coverage.

Pros:
1-The light coverage makes it very natural, it wont cover freckles (which I like) and it lasts quite a while on my skin.
2- The applicator is quite nice, you just squeeze the amount of product you need, which is still a little better than a pump bottle in my opinion.

Cons:
1-MAC does not offer a very wide selection of skin tones for this line, so it wont match everybody's skin.
2-The smell is not exactly pleasant.
3-When I applied it on my hand to test, i had the impression that it started oxidizing to a little bit of a pinky-orangy tone after a while. I didn't notice that when I applied on my face, but I will keep watching for that.

I know it looks very light, but once I apply it on my skin it matches perfectly.
I probably will not buy this tinted moisturizer again. I believe you can find something superior for this price (even less!) and as a moisturizer it was a bit of a fail to me.
And these are my thoughts on this product.

TESTED: One by One Maybelline Mascara

This is going to be my first blog review, and I picked something that I purchased a month or so ago, so I've had plenty of time to try it (I've been using it almost everyday).
The new Mascara from Maybelline, One by One.

This mascara was somewhat a disappointment for me. I can't stay I dislike it, but I was expecting it to give my lashes a lot more volume. It does a good job on separating your lashes, but that's about IT. The little application brush is very flexible, you can easily bend it, which didn't bother me. I noticed a strong smell in the first applications, which was not an issue, really.
I would recommend this for an everyday look, just to give your lashes a little "boost" for school or work, but if you're planning on going out at night and want a voluminous, dramatic look, this mascara is NOT the way to go.
Overall, it's a 3 out of 5.

I am thinking of making a "battle of drugstore mascaras" soon, let me know what you guys think!
